Picking Up
The Clock Shop of Richmond, LTD
Grandfather Clocks that are being picked up by a moving company:
- Please make sure you have paid your final invoice, in full, prior to the clock being picked up. Invoices must be paid at time of pick up. If the invoice is not paid within 10 days of picking you, there will be a 10% interest fee, charged monthly, until paid in full.
- You will receive a phone call when your item(s) is ready for pick up. If you have multiple items in for repairs, most likely they WILL NOT be ready at the same time. Each item must be picked up within 60 days from notification. If you live out of town or need to pick up all of your items at once, please let us know! Otherwise a storage fee of $35 a month will be charged on each item left over 60 days and may be considered abandoned property.
When picking up, please provide us with your claim ticket we issued upon drop off.
- Once repairs are completed your item will be ready for transport (pendulum, weights, etc, will be removed), unless you have requested us to go over instructions and set up. Due to limited space, clocks may not be running/operating upon the customers arrival.
Please bring your own packing materials (blankets, boxes, towels, etc.) to safely transport your items. We DO NOT supply packing materials.
- Repaired Grandfather/Floor Standing Clocks picked up by the customer have a 1 year, In-shop warranty. If you are in need of assistance setting up your clock and live within 30 miles, we can help! There is a $275 ($375 on tubular bell clocks) charge to come out and set up your clock with a 1 year, In-Home limited warranty. Every customer is required to agree to our terms, prior to scheduling, please click on “In-Home/Office Service Calls” tab above for more information.
- Reminder that we do not transport cases. If you are in need of assistance moving/transporting your clock, please call Moving Made Easy at 804-658-0315 or your trusted moving company. They will quote you a price and bill you directly. Please note they are a moving company and will not “Tune” clocks or attempt to make any repairs.
- Repairs on clocks that are completed without the clock case, may require some adjustments to the hammers, moon dial gears, hands and possibly the “beat.” Please let us know if you have any questions? It is always best for us to install said repairs so we can make all necessary adjustments prior to picking up. There maybe additional charges if these items are brought back and need further adjustments.
Spring Driven Mantel and Wall clocks that chime/strike should be kept semi upright for transport.
- It may take us several minutes to process your payment and prepare your clock for transport. If you would like us to go over operations/instructions on your timepiece(s), please let us know! Allow 20-30 minutes for us to go over instructions with you.
We do not have access to clock manuals. There may be some available through an online search.
