Repair Estimates

Clock & Watch Intake & Estimates

What to expect when dropping off your clock or watch for evaluation, estimates, and repair.

Please review the full intake process, timelines, policies, and important requirements before bringing in your timepiece.

No Appointments Needed

We do not take appointments for drop-offs or pick-ups. You may stop by during business hours.

$10 Estimate Fee

Each item requires a $10 estimate fee. We do not offer free estimates or evaluations.

Plan for Time

Due to high demand, please expect up to 6 months total for evaluation, repair, and testing.

Dropping Off Your Item

We recommend taking photos and documenting your timepiece before bringing it in.

Step 1: Intake & Claim Ticket

Your timepiece will be checked in and you will receive a claim ticket with your account number. This account number stays the same for all future visits.

Please always reference your account number when calling or emailing about your repair.

Step 2: Evaluation

Estimates take approximately 3–4 weeks. Every clock and watch must be evaluated by the Clockmaker or Watchmaker before pricing is provided.

Step 3: Estimate Call

Once your item is evaluated, we will contact you with the estimate and an approximate repair timeframe. Due to workload and the complexity of repairs, all timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.

Step 4: Your Decision

  • Approve Repairs: Your item enters the work queue.
  • Place on Hold: You have up to 60 days. After that, storage fees of $35/month apply.
  • Decline Repairs: Item moves to pickup area. No repairs = no warranty.
  • Change of Mind: If work has started, labor and parts may still be charged.

What to Bring vs. Keep at Home

Bring With Your Clock

  • Pendulums
  • Weights
  • Suspension springs / leaders
  • Hands
  • Loose gears or movement parts

Keep at Home

  • Winding keys / cranks*
  • Door keys
  • Finials or decorative pieces
  • Manuals, photos, papers
  • Loose case parts

*Bring keys only if you suspect they do not fit properly.

Important Policies

  • Items must be picked up within 60 days or $35/month storage applies
  • Limit 5 watches per visit per day
  • No “parts-only” repairs — full service required for warranty
  • We only perform repairs recommended by the Clockmaker
  • Major case repairs must be completed before service begins
  • We are not responsible for items left inside clocks

Repair Expectations

Clock and watch repairs are complex. Once movements are opened, additional issues may be found such as worn gears, broken springs, or missing parts. You will always be contacted before additional work is performed.

Due to age, prior repairs, or mixed parts (“married parts”), some items may require additional time or may not be repairable.

Special Watch Estimate Option

If you prefer to wait for a watch estimate, there is a $100 non-refundable fee per item. This applies to watches only and is not credited toward repairs.

The watchmaker is typically available Tuesdays and Wednesdays after 2pm. Please call ahead to confirm.

Service Limitations

  • No decorative repairs (finials, dials, etc.)
  • No electrical work
  • No case cleaning or cosmetic restoration
  • No fire or soot-damaged items accepted
  • No dial cleaning (must be sent to specialty shop)
